Guelph School of Music Summer Camp
July 15-19: Ages 6 to 11
This specialized music camp is designed for children aged 6 to 11. Participants will engage in a variety of activities, including games, singing, crafts, and movement, while also acquiring fundamental skills for playing the ukulele. The week will culminate with a pizza party lunch on Friday and a final performance on Friday afternoon in the GYMC Recital Hall, where campers will showcase all the musical discoveries they’ve made throughout the week. The program will be led by Guelph School of Music Teaching Faculty.

Summer Strings Camp
July 22-26: Ages 7+
Summer Strings Camp is an orchestral training camp designed for string players who are looking for an enriching and fun summer experience making music and new friends. Students will have the opportunity to sharpen their orchestral and ensemble skills with conductor Joy Schuster. Daily activities will include orchestra rehearsals, sectionals and workshops with guest instructors. The week will conclude with a pizza party lunch on Friday and a final performance on Friday afternoon for family and friends. This camp is suitable for ages 7+, as well as those with a minimum proficiency of RCM Level 3 or Suzuki Book 2. The ability to read music is required. Summer Chamber Music Intensive
July 29-August 1: Ages 12+
This four day (Mon-Thurs) intensive promises to be an enriching experience for those seeking to elevate their chamber music skills and explore performing in smaller ensembles. Under the guidance of seasoned instructors, participants will refine their ensemble techniques and collaborative skills. Daily activities will include sectional coachings, private lessons, masterclasses, and rehearsal time. Music will be dispersed to participants prior to the beginning of the program. The week will conclude with a final performance on Thursday afternoon for family and friends. This chamber intensive is suitable for ages 12+, as well as those with a minimum proficiency of RCM Level 5 or Suzuki Book 5. Any questions regarding required skill level can be directed to Joy Schuster. The deadline to register for Chamber Intensive is Monday, June 3, 2024.
Cost: $450
Camp programming will run from 9:00am to 4:30pm each day. Students may be dropped off early between 8:30am and 9:00am, and picked up between the hours of 4:30pm and 5:00pm.
