Guelph School of Music Summer Camp
July 7-11, 2025: Ages 5 to 7
July 14-18, 2025: Ages 8 to 12
Led by the talented faculty of the Guelph School of Music, campers will delve into the fundamentals of music, including notation, reading music, ear training, and rhythm, through play-based learning. Participants will engage in a variety of activities, including games, crafts, and outdoor play. Daily craft activities will explore making instruments out of recycled materials. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in special workshops, including boomwhackers, drums, ukulele (ages 8-12 only), and choir. The week will culminate with a pizza party lunch on Friday and a final performance on Friday afternoon in the GYMC Recital Hall, where campers will showcase all the musical discoveries they’ve made throughout the week. No prior music experience is required – just a love for music and a willingness to explore!

Summer Strings Camp
July 21-25, 2025: Ages 7+
Summer Strings Camp is an orchestral training camp designed for string players who are looking for an enriching and fun summer experience making music and new friends. Students will have the opportunity to sharpen their orchestral and ensemble skills with conductor Joy Schuster. Daily activities will include orchestra rehearsals, sectionals and workshops with guest instructors. The week will conclude with a pizza party lunch on Friday and a final performance on Friday afternoon for family and friends. This camp is suitable for ages 7+, as well as those with a minimum proficiency of RCM Level 3 or Suzuki Book 2. The ability to read music is required. Any questions regarding required skill level can be directed to Joy Schuster. Guest instructors and enrichment programs to be announced.

Chamber Music Camp
August 18-22, 2025: Ages 12+
This chamber music camp promises to be an enriching experience for those seeking to elevate their chamber music skills and explore performing in smaller ensembles. Participants will be placed in instrumental duos, trios, and/or quartets. Repertoire will be assigned based on instrument and level, and will be dispersed to participants prior to the beginning of the program. Under the guidance of seasoned instructors, students will refine their ensemble techniques and collaborative skills. Daily activities will include sectional coachings, private lessons, masterclasses, and rehearsal time. The week will conclude with a final performance for family and friends on Friday afternoon at 3:30pm. The program is suitable for all types of instruments, students ages 12+, as well as those with a minimum proficiency of RCM Level 5 or Suzuki Book 5. Any questions regarding required skill level can be directed to Joy Schuster. The deadline to register for Chamber Intensive is Monday, June 30, 2025.
Cost: $395
Camp programming will run from 9:00am to 4:30pm each day. Students may be dropped off early between 8:30am and 9:00am, and picked up between the hours of 4:30pm and 5:00pm.
