Holiday Silent Auction

Support the Guelph Youth Music Centre this Holiday Season!

The GYMC Virtual Holiday Silent Auction begins TODAY at 10:00am and runs until 7:00pm on December 1, 2024. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact by supporting a centre that enriches young lives and strengthens our community through music and the arts. Culture Days

Come celebrate Culture Days with us at the Guelph Youth Music Centre (GYMC) on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM! Experience the vibrant arts and culture of our community through a variety of free, interactive workshops, open rehearsals, and live performances for all ages. Don’t miss this chance to immerse yourself in the creative spirit of Guelph!

The event will feature a variety of exciting activities, including musical theatre dance classes by Dance Spirit Studios, stage combat demonstrations by Blackthorn Productions, and acting improv sessions with The Acting Centre. Families with young children can enjoy a Great Lakes Music Together class for children 0-5 and their grownups, while all ages can join a community drum circle led by a local drumming collective.

Visitors are invited to drop in and observe the Suzuki String School of Guelph’s group rehearsals or sing along during an open choir rehearsal with the Guelph Youth Singers. Woodwind players are welcome to join a drop-in rehearsal led by Guelph School of Music faculty members, Rosanne Warren and Bill Rolfe. Don’t miss the instrument petting zoo hosted by the Suzuki String School of Guelph, where guests of all ages can try playing the violin, viola, and cello. The afternoon will conclude with a 4:00pm showcase in the GYMC Recital Hall, spotlighting performances from various local arts organizations. 

Explore the Guelph Youth Music Centre and learn more about the many organizations and programs based in our community space. No registration is required, and admission is free.

Just as Sharon, Lois & Bram brought happiness to four generations of children and their grown-ups, Sharon Hampson and her daughter Randi have continued to share the music of Sharon, Lois & Bram with yet another generation of families. This singalong gathering is a real family affair featuring Sharon & Randi, Randi’s son Ethan and Randi’s beau Jim. Singalong highlights will include such beloved Sharon, Lois & Bram favourites as “Tingalayo,” “Hey Dum Diddeley Dum,” “She’ll Be Coming Round the Mountain,” and, of course, “Skinnamarink.”
