The GYMC provides youth opportunities to join a choir or string orchestra, take private music lessons, or participate in group music classes.

Music Theory

Music theory classes and private lessons are available for all ages and levels.

Blackball: Electronic Music Program

Blackball is hands-on, live electronic music performance on real synthesizers, drum pads and vocoders—no iPads, no headphones, no screens.

Kids Chorus

Introductory choir for children aged 6 to 10 who have a passion for singing.

Summer Camp

A variety of summer camps are available for students ages 5 and up.

Ukulele Class

Joining the ukulele class is a great way to introduce your child to music lessons or to a new instrument.

Crafted Notes

Kids will learn to make their own instrument and various objects, learning the history of that instrument. The art of Origami/Zhezhi and paper crafts teaches patience, problem solving, and hand-eye coordination.

Guelph School of Music

Private lessons in piano, violin, flute, clarinet, saxophone, voice, guitar, ukulele, rudiments, harmony, music history.

Youth String Orchestras

The GYMC Junior and Intermediate String Orchestras provide young string players with the opportunity to enhance their orchestral and musical skills, engage in community performances, and make music with their peers.

Sound Explorers: Adapted Music Class for Youth with Disabilities

A music-based program for children with special needs, focusing on creative expression, communication and social skills.
